At ICDT!, we want our students to gain as many skills as they can for the stage. Our one and a half hour training classes allow students to focus on building the skills of a well rounded performer. Geared toward our production students or those with prior experience, these high-energy advanced classes are designed for experienced performers who want to bring stronger acting, improv, vocal training, or dance to their work. Through engaging scene study, song interpretation, choreography, and character-driven exercises, students will learn how to connect acting, improv, voice, and dance into one dynamic performance. These classes dive into more challenging material and techniques while building confidence, storytelling skills, and stage presence. Audition videos may be requested to assess skill level for our training classes.

About the Class

Step into the spotlight! This beginner-friendly class expands on things learned in “Improv Games” by introducing students to the basics of acting through fun games, scene work, and imaginative exercises. Students will learn how to use their voices, bodies, and emotions to create believable characters and tell powerful stories. Whether you're new to acting or building your skills, this class will help you grow in confidence, creativity, and collaboration—all while having fun on stage!

Acting Training

About the Class

This 1.5 hour long advanced class is designed for experienced young actors who want to expand their creativity and take bold risks on stage. Through lively scene work, character exploration, and ensemble games, students will build stronger instincts, sharpen their skills, and bring more truth and energy to their performances. Emphasis is placed on emotional connection, script analysis, and confident stage presence in a supportive, high-energy environment. Expect lots of laughter, collaboration, and exciting challenges in a supportive space where every actor is encouraged to shine.

Broadway Dance

Ages 6 to 11

About the Class

Come dance along with your fellow ICDT! peers in our beginner dance class! Learn basic dance terminology and skills in a fun and inclusive environment. Each week you will learn new choreography, work on the foundations of dance, and get to experience the joy of storytelling through movement. Broadway dance covers a variety of styles from jazz to tap, ballet to musical theatre, and more!

About the Class

Come learn the importance of ensemble work and growing your vocal confidence as we work together on musical numbers from popular shows like High School Musical, Grease, Hairspray, Wicked, Hamilton, and more! This class focuses on vocal technique, breath control, and singing in harmony. Students will continue harmonies and ensemble work while also taking on solos, duets, and trios. Musical numbers will be drawn to help students build stage presence, confidence, and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Character Development Through D&D

Ages 11 - 18

About the Class

In Character Development Through D&D, students will develop essential acting skills by exploring character analysis, character creation, and improvisation through the collaborative storytelling of Dungeons & Dragons. Using roleplay and guided gameplay as a creative framework, students will examine character objectives, relationships, motivations, and emotional choices while practicing active listening, adaptability, and ensemble collaboration. Each session encourages participants to think critically about the characters they create and portray, strengthening their ability to make authentic performance choices and respond confidently in the moment. No prior Dungeons & Dragons experience is necessary—this class is designed for both new and experienced players who are interested in building stronger storytelling and performance skills in an engaging, imaginative environment.

Take your training to the next level in this advanced training class for students ready to push past the basics. Designed for dancers with prior experience/students in Jr. & Mainstage productions, this class dives deeper into complex choreography, refined technique, and dynamic performance. You'll explore advanced styles across jazz, tap, ballet, and musical theatre while learning how to bring character and story to life through dance. With a focus on stamina, musicality, and expressive movement, this class challenges students to grow as both dancers and performers in a supportive, high-energy environment.

About the Class

Come be a part of ICDT!’s Showcases! Not only will this class give students the opportunity to learn and grow in their knowledge and understanding of theatre, blocking, and choreography, but it will allow for growth musically as we learn about the basics of sheet music and working with an accompanist. This class will cater to all levels of experience, and is the perfect opportunity for students who want to continue growing in their craft, as well as those who want to try it out on stage for the first time!

About the Class

This is an energetic class that teaches acting through improv! Improvisation is spontaneous performance without specific or scripted preparation and will strengthen your skills of thinking on your feet and allow you to respond to new ideas and themes with joy and curiosity.

About the Class

This class is a great introduction to acting! You will be encouraged to use your imagination, work as a team, and build confidence all while learning and playing theatre games together. Come have fun while strengthening your drama and comedy skills through storytelling!

The Improv & Sketch Comedy troupe is designed to give performers the opportunity to explore and develop their comedic talents! Split into three sections, students will work together as an ensemble to generate an original short form improv show, an original long form improv show, and an original sketch comedy show all performed live at ICDT!! Music and Movement (Level 1)

Families, drop off your young movers and shakers! This class is the perfect introduction to all things music, theatre, and the arts. In this class we'll discover ways our bodies can move in response to the music. Exciting musical games, rhythm work, and storytelling will be featured to help your kiddos develop creativity, listening skills, coordination, and more!

About the Class

Ready to level up? “Music and Movement (Level 2)” is designed for students who have taken our introductory class and are excited for more, more, more! This class continues to explore the world of music, theatre, and the arts through more complex rhythms and musical storytelling. Students will build confidence as they explore character through movement, learn basic dance moves, and strengthen their musical ear. With continued practice, your young artist will grow in body, voice, and imagination!

About the Class

Through exploration, exercises, and collaboration, students will learn techniques and skills to confidently choreograph their own work. Students will work on both solos and small group pieces that can be whatever stories, songs, and styles that inspire them. Work will be shared in class. Students will learn both how to give and receive feedback in a positive, supportive, and helpful manner. Students will show selective work at the final sharing. This class will be a place for creativity, discovery, and joy!

Tap

Ages 6 to 11

About the Class

This class introduces dancers to the foundations of tap. Students will practice rhythm, timing, and musicality while learning beginner tap steps. They’ll also work on balance and coordination, building skills that support both dance and overall development—all while having fun with their classmates.

About the Class

Dancers will learn new steps, build their tap technique, and explore different styles of tap in a fun and upbeat class. We’ll work on complex footwork, balance, rhythm, musicality, and syncopation while encouraging tap dancers to find their own style and personality. With fun challenges and plenty of teamwork, dancers will build confidence, stage presence, and strong tap skills, all while having fun and growing their love for tap!

Voice Training

Ages 11 - 18

About the Class

This 1.5 hour advanced training class is designed for students ready to push their performance skills further. With a strong focus on storytelling through song, students will work on complex harmonies, musical phrasing, and blending as an ensemble. Each performer will also get opportunities to shine in featured solos, small groups, and full company numbers. Students will explore different musical styles, deepen their character work, and gain the confidence needed for high-level auditions and performances.

Initial tuition payment (Full or Half Payment option) is due within 24 hours of enrollment. If you need additional flexibility, please contact us upon enrollment to explore Payment Plan or Tuition Assistance options.
If your card is declined, please contact us within 48 hours with an updated payment method. Unpaid enrollments without a payment arrangement may be released to the next person on the waitlist.


CANCELLATION POLICY:
A refund (minus a Cancellation Fee) or full class credit* will be issued if the request is made before the cancellation dates available in our policy document on our Parent Portal and linked below.
